CSTS
This was posted on the Universal HD forums.....

Browncoats all over the Globe, we need you!! We are looking you and
your friends, on film, telling us why you love Firefly and Serenity.
Give us some of your favorite quotes from the movie or the series.

My name is Shelley, and I'm the assistant on this project
entitled "WE ARE MIGHTY!"

A video compilation will be played at every CSTS Event around the
world, and will act as an introduction to the event before the film
Serenity is played.

What We Need From You - and we understand if you can only do pieces
and parts of this - just get us your videos by the end of March:

Please film, if you can, against a white backdrop (a sheet is fine).
If you have to, use cream.

- for editing purposes - give us your name (spell it out for us) and
where you live.

-One to three word descriptions of Firefly and Serenity. Words
like "Family," "Love," and "Big Sci-Fi Explosions" (yes, sci-fi is
hyphenated).

-Two or three of your favorite lines from the series or the film,
spoken by you on camera.

-A description on why Firefly and Serenity are important to you (No
more than 10 seconds). What did the series and film teach you? How
did it make you feel? What message(s) did you take away from it?

Each reply can be around 10-15 seconds.

Then if you could, please include on film:

"I am (your name), and I am mighty!"
"I am mighty!"
"We are mighty!"

The link for "technical spec.s" and mailing is here:
http://www.cantstoptheserenity.com/csts-gl...yvideo/#more-28

Uploading or Sending:

If you can send the clip over the internet, Andrew recommends using
megaupload or yousendit.com to email the files to him. He can
accept .mov and .wmv files, though .wmv's tend to lose a lot of
quality due to compression. If you are trying to send this via
Windows Movie Maker, please just snail mail the tape. WMM tends to
import the footage already at low quality so whatever changes you
make from it, it will still retain its bad quality and appearance.
Once again, Andrew can accept Beta, VHS, Mini-DV, DVCam, VHS-C and
DVD. The size Andrew would require for the videos sent digitally
would be 720 x 480 pixels.

If you need to snail mail the tape or media to Andrew directly, he
can provide his home address through his email:
almarnik@cantstoptheserenity.com.

***Please feel free to take this posting, and send it to your smaller
Browncoat groups! This is a great thing to do at a shindig. Thank you
for your help. Any questions, please email me, Shelley, at
dawnsister@comcast.net 'with CSTS short' in the subject line.

Knitters Wanted
The Austin Browncoats need some knitting help. Many of you heard about our knit-a-thon at Dragon*Con 2008. Claudia knit 12 hats during the course of booth hours, which is an impressive feat. The hats are so popular that we have pre-orders coming in weekly. We're looking for individuals that are interested in helping us knit hats for charity. For more information about the charities we support, visit: Austin Browncoats Charity.

We will provide you with a starter kit, that will include the pattern or pattern and yarn (according to if you want to donate your knitting time or your knitting time AND yarn). We will provide receipts to all knitters to document time, as well as monetary donations.

We are in need of knit wool and acrylic hats, but are not in need of crocheted Jayne hats currently. We are working on being able to provide acrylic yarn, but as of right now, we can only provide wool yarn.

If you can't knit, but would like to help us make Jayne hats for charity, think of this:

$15 makes 3 Jayne hats.

By donating $15 to the Austin Browncoats, you are helping us produce three Jayne hats. That $15 turns into over $100 that goes straight to Kids Need To Read, Equality Now and our other supported charities.

If you are interested in any of these positions, or would like more information about volunteering with the Austin Browncoats, write to: volunteer@austinbrowncoats.com.
